UC and Cal State Schools no longer require the submission of standardized test scores such as the SAT or ACT. However, students still have the option to take and include their scores in their college applications. Although these scores will not affect acceptance into the college in any way, it will help the school determine which courses to place students into. Additionally, taking the SAT and/or ACT can open students to more scholarship opportunities. Therefore, taking the SAT or ACT is still recommended, but no longer required.
